About Us

Contrary to popular belief, the Nerang RSL Sub Branch is not a social venue, it is heavily involved in the Wellbeing of serving and ex-serving members of the Australian Defence Force and their dependents.

  • The RSL has a wide range of Wellbeing activities and Volunteer hospital and home visit program.
  • The RSL has Department of Veteran’s Affairs trained Pension Officers to assist in Veterans Pension claims and closely interacts with DVA.
  • All current serving ADF and ex-service personnel that served in any Australian or Allied Aervice or completed National Service for a minimum of 6 months are eligible to join the RSL.
  • Service and ex-service woman hold the same rights as men in the RSL, i.e. they may be full members.
  • The RSL is very involved with schools and the community, providing guest speakers and bursaries to schools and grants to the community groups.
  • The RSL has established educational scholarships through its RSL Youth Development Program.
  • The RSL can and has established Woman’s and Citizen’s Auxiliaries throughout Australia.
  • The RSL has a prime focus on commemorative activities and encourages loyalty within the community.
  • The RSL has and does successfully lobby government on Veteran Affairs and Defence matters. and
  • The RSL has donated millions of dollars to medical research.
